Every wedding is beautiful, but Southern Oaks Plantation takes beautiful to a whole new level of amazing. Mr. Bobby and his staff go above and beyond to make sure every little detail of a bride and groom’s day is perfect. Hope and Lance’s summer wedding was no exception. But let’s not get ahead of ourselves, let’s start at the beginning.
It all started with Hope being transformed into a bride at the Hilton Riverside Hotel in New Orleans. Surrounded by family and friends, just like Cinderella, Hope became a bride. While waiting to do the first look, I went to check in on Lance. He was a ball of nerves. Consumed with excitement and anxiousness to see his beautiful wife-to-be we set up for the first look. There were a few times I thought I may have to pick Lance up off the floor while waiting for Hope to enter, but he got through it like a champ. I mean after all he is a firefighter, but I really believe he was more nervous to see his bride then he would be running into any burning house. Such a big moment in his life, other than their beautiful baby girl. When the time came, and Lance turned around to see Hope for the 1st time, I was able to witness 1st hand what love looked like. It was simply amazing. Once everyone composed themselves, we moved on to bridal party portraits and we hit the jackpot! There just so happened to be an empty streetcar passing by and GUESS WHAT! The driver STOPPED and got off to let us take our time and take some gorgeous photos. I mean we could not have gotten any luckier.
Back to Southern Oaks Plantation. The staff was busy making sure everything was perfect as always. Everyone was starting to arrive and the time had finally come. Hope and her dad came around in a stunning horse-drawn carriage. Remember Cinderella as I mentioned earlier, well this was Hopes very own fairytale. Just watching how everyone’s eyes filled with tears of happiness, I realized I was witnessing something truly amazing. In 7 short minutes, so much love was exchanged and two hearts became one.
