Hall and Oats meets Star Wars… WHHHAATTT!!! How do you describe a wedding that is officiated by Hall and Oats ( not the real guys obviously) and a Star Wars second line complete with the Star Wars theme song and a bride in a wedding dress that is black and grey and with pockets, yes boys and girls pockets!!! Umm you call that kick ass that’s what!
The day started off as any other with a beautiful bride getting dressed with butterflies in her tummy waiting to see her hubby to be.. with the exception she was getting dressed in her two piece black and grey dress by Martina Liana from Bridal Boutique By Maeme, complete with hidden pockets and blue chucks. Stephanie and Ryan took all the traditional and made it their kind of traditional. A beautiful updo of black hair and a touch of grey with killer makeup by Aivi Dang set the overall look that Stephanie rocked! Ryan was dressed as sharp as a tack in his suit from Italy Direct. After a heart felt first look at the Omni Royal Orleans Hotel, the ceremony was about to begin.
The Pharmacy Museum in New Orleans was the perfect location for Stephanie and Ryan’s wedding. If you have never been there I highly suggest you take a tour of it. The courtyard is beautiful and perfect for a ceremony. The interior is such a masterpiece. It absolutely took their quirkiness to a new level. Imagine walking into a wedding reception and seeing all of these old medieval looking Dr tools and herbs used by voodoo priestesses in the late 1800’s. Yea, it was that kind of cool! Joy from Bridal 911 was there to help set the stage for all of the awesomeness the guest were about to encounter. Hall and Oats, well their friends dressed as Daryl Hall & John Oats officiated their wedding and included lyrics in the vows to make it interactive for the guest. It was a teary and full of laughter kind of moment. No New Orleans wedding is complete without a Second Line. Well this was like no other Second Line New Orleans has ever seen. It started off with the brass band, Kinfolk Bank, playing the theme song to Star Wars! It was a total surprise for Ryan and a hit with the folks on the street. Oh and did I mention it had light sabers included!
I can not say enough about how unique and amazing this wedding was. It was nearly 2 months ago as I write this and still to this day I get asked about the “wedding that the girl wore black” I encourage everyone, just as Stephanie & Ryan did, be your own kind of traditional!
